Winter Styled Shoot: A cozy, intimate elopement warms even the coldest Chicago January day

Last January, one of my favorite Chicago creatives, Meg Adamik Creative, and I put together a styled shoot to highlight the unique beauty of intimate elopements in our big city. Styled shoots are a way for creatives like us to collaborate, engage new vendors that we’re dying to work with, thaw out our creative muscles after a quiet winter, and (hopefully!) create some inspiration for couples planning their own wedding. I recruited a real couple, two of my Chicago buds, who braved sub zero weather for these incredible moments.

Spring is a time of change, of emerging from the dark winter and embracing life and growth in longer days. This wedding inspiration features the side of springtime that is: colorful flowers struggling to burst through muddy grass, butterflies breaking free and setting flight, golden sunlight striking through the wintry sky, and a dance between dark and light.

Parker + Diana found love in a few pairs of hiking boots. These two met in Oakland, CA and discovered their shared affinity for the outdoors. They thrive in each other’s company, and find quiet in long hikes together. On this snowy December day, wedding planner Olivia Nicoletti and designer Maureen Higgins brought them down to sea level for a moment to showcase their love.
