Courtney + Thomas: Loving, Bright, Joyful Chicago Wedding

You know when you meet a couple and you just immediately fall in love with them? That’s how I felt with Courtney + Thomas. They’re as funny as they are kind. They’re as generous as they are fun. It was an absolute pleasure to work with them to pull off a fabulous wedding last May.

As did many other couples in early 2021, Courtney + Thomas’ original wedding plans were upended by COVID-19. They planned to have 150 people at a restaurant in Lincoln Park, but with the changing city-wide restrictions, they decided to move their reception to a boat cruise so their guests could enjoy an evening outdoors. May 1 is a risky weather date in Chicago, but magically, it was 80 degrees all day which led to an absolutely perfect day on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. Can’t believe it’s already been a year since we celebrated these two. Congratulations Courtney + Thomas!

Audrey + Max: Glamourous, Show-stopping, Autumn Chicago Wedding

Audrey + Max not only celebrated their wedding day, but hosted events their entire wedding weekend, and every moment was absolutely fabulous. Friday evening started off at the Epiphany Center for the Arts where they had their rehearsal and dinner with their immediate family members and wedding party. Once dinner was complete, they transitioned to their welcome event where an additional 50 guests arrived. A surprise performance by Ivy Ford during the welcome party had everyone practicing their dance moves for the main event the next day.

Bryndl + Blaine: Meaningful Winter Wedding

Bryndl + Blaine originally planned to host a large wedding at Glen View Club, a meaningful location to the bride — her parents are long-time members, and she has countless memories of attending parties there as a child and teen. She always loved the classic holiday decor at the Club, so when she and Blaine got engaged, a winter wedding at this special place seemed obvious.

COVID had other plans, of course.

So, the couple pivoted (over and over) and ended up with a truly special wedding at the bride’s home church, with just family in attendance, and Glen View Club was able to cater an intimate meal at the couple’s new home, just down the block from where she grew up. We spent a chilly December day with the couple and their families, and it was truly magical — down to a spectacular surprise engineered by the bride’s twin. Read on, friends. Happy one year anniversary, B+B!
