Lisa + Bob: Festive, Classic, Cozy Winter Wedding
It is such an honor to work with an incredible family twice. After Chris + Christine’s 2022 wedding, Christine’s sister Lisa and her boyfriend Bob got engaged and I was thrillllleeeddd when they called me! There is something special about the Wuertz family.
Lisa + Bob wanted a classic Chicago venue in the cozy holiday months, so they landed on the Chicago Cultural Center on December 16, 2023. We planned a wedding filled with deep greens and lots of candlelight and it was a truly magical evening. As the chill started filling the air in late 2023, they decided to add more holiday touches, bringing in lit Christmas trees to the cocktail space and the landing before Preston Bradley Hall, creating a festive atmosphere for their guests. Their card box was even a sweet “Letters to Santa” mailbox. It was such a joyful wedding day and perfect kick-off to the holiday season. Read on for alllll the cozy vibes!
Happy first anniversary to Lisa + Bob! xo Olivia

The bride got ready at Lisa’s parents’ home, which was beautifully decorated for the holidays. The ladies wore holiday pjs and enjoyed a quiet morning as a family (and Lisa’s puppy, Nellie!). Lisa chose a chic gown from Jenny Yoo and paired it with a timeless chignon by Erin Ahern and natural makeup by Jose Deleon.
Braving the rain, the couple headed to Holy Name Cathedral for their beautiful Catholic wedding ceremony. Holy Name is awe-inspiring and a few lovely Christmas trees filled the altar space.
After the ceremony, Lisa + Bob and their friends hopped on a trolley to head to Union Station for some iconic Chicago portraits. Once they arrived at the venue, Sally pulled them for a few special portraits in the incredible Chicago Cultural Center. This space truly needs no introduction.
Their Cocktail Hour took place in the Grand GAR Hall which boasts some unbelievable architecture.
Guests were in awe of the space while they sipped cocktails and ate some yummy appetizers prepared by Hearty Boys. Huge shoutout to team OFW for putting together the dreamiest mirror seating chart!
Meanwhile, Flowers for Dreams, MDM Entertainment and Hearty Boys were setting up their beautiful reception in Preston Bradley Hall. This space contains magic, I swear. We filled it up with white, black, green and gold accents and it literally glowed.
Guests filled up on yummy stations lovingly prepared by Hearty Boys and speeches and special dances were so, so joyful. Once Beatmix’s Mixtape started, the dance floor was packed the entire night. What an incredible evening - it was an honor to be part of it!
Congratulations on year 1 of marriage, Lisa + Bob!
