Caroline + Charles: Classy, Joyful Chicago Wedding

Caroline + Charles are loyal, hard-working, brilliant, kind, and funny — and their August 17, 2019 wedding represented them perfectly. They said beautiful vows at Caroline’s home church in Winnetka, where she was a chorister for most of her young life, and celebrated with close friends and family at the Saddle & Cycle Club, where her grandfather is a member. The families came together in a beautiful celebration of Caroline + Charles, and photographer Elizabeth Nord captured it beautifully.

Their wedding was chock full of music - something that is near and dear to the bride and her family. She and her family all sang in the church’s choir, traveling the world on tours over the year. The choirmaster commissioned a piece in celebration of Caroline + Charles -- a stunning piece that brought us all to tears.

They traveled to the Saddle & Cycle Club for their reception, and once there, luxuriated in the love of their family during family photos on the property, grabbed a signature cocktail at the outdoor bar, and visited with friends. The ballroom was decorated with care by Edward’s Florist, with a grand head table in the middle of the room, topped with gorgeous white and green centerpieces.

The speeches were a highlight, with the groom’s taking the cake. He spoke so kindly of his friends, family, but most especially, his new wife.

The guests moved outside to the terrace for an intimate cake cutting and were treated to tunes by Velocity. With quite a few Carolines in the room - the dance floor cleared for an incredibly FUN rendition of “Sweet Caroline”. The bride and groom never left the dance floor, and at the end of the night, floated off under a canopy of sparklers and into their getaway car. I was at the top of the stairs with them while their guests were lighting sparklers, and I heard Caroline say to her new husband, “This was the best night of my life”. It was truly one for the books.

Caroline’s dad is one in a million -- genuine, kind, and silly, and his reaction to his daughter on her wedding day was pure perfection. Will never get over this face!

Charles got into his dashing blue suit from Surmesur with help from his gents, especially his dad, who played double duty as his best man.

The couple traveled down the beautiful Sheridan Road to the Saddle & Cycle Club where they were greeted by the most beautiful ballroom, lovingly decorated by Edward’s Florist.
